Central Mandala
At the center is a highly detailed Buddhist mandala, representing the enlightened universe.
The square symbolises the sacred dwelling of awakened consciousness, the center of meditation, entry into enlightenment. Within the palace is a circular wheel-like design representing the awakened mind.
Eight Enlightened Figures
Surrounding the mandala are eight seated Buddhas or Bodhisattvas, each placed within a halo or lotus niche. They represent enlightened qualities such as wisdom, compassion, purity, fearlessness, healing, meditation, protection and spiritual realisation. The arrangement radiates outward from the central mandala, symbolising enlightenment extending throughout the universe.
Endless Knot
Near the upper left is the Endless Knot (Śrīvatsa), one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols.
It represents, infinite wisdom, interdependence, the unity of compassion and wisdom, the endless cycle of cause and effect
Clouds and Floral Scrollwork
Cloud motifs connect the Buddhas around the bowl.
These symbolise divine presence, spiritual ascent, the heavenly realms, the movement of blessings.
The exterior covered in flowing Tibetan mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum”
Singing bowls can be simply struck on the side or encircled around the rim to vibrate and create a beautiful rich tone. Used by buddhist monks during meditation and various therapists and healers.
There are many ways that singing bowls can be used. They can be placed directly on the body or held around the aura to balance and align the chakras. Water can also be placed inside the bowl to alter the sound.
Sound healing is known to bring many benefits including bringing inner stillness where deep healing can occur. It can also strengthen the nervous system and balance the chakras thereby increasing energy/vitality and alleviating stress.
