He is depicted seated in meditation on a lotus throne. Holding the flaming sword of wisdom, which cuts through ignorance. Holding a lotus supporting the Prajñāpāramitā Sutra, the scripture of perfect wisdom. Surrounded by a halo and a ring of Tibetan mantra.
Manjushri represents wisdom, mental clarity, higher learning, right understanding, discernment and enlightened intelligence.
Tibetan Mantra Ring
The circle surrounding Manjushri contains a mantra invoking wisdom and blessings. These mantra rings are traditionally believed to sanctify the bowl and symbolise the continuous flow of enlightened energy.
Eight Wisdom Mandalas
Around the interior are eight circular sacred diagrams, each containing the Tibetan seed syllable Om (ཨོཾ) within a mandala.
These represent purification, sacred sound, the awakened mind and blessings radiating in all directions.
Eight is an auspicious number in Buddhism, associated with the noble eightfold path, eight auspicious symbols and the eight directions.
Lotus and Jewel Motifs
Between the circles appear stylised lotus and jewel symbols.
These represent purity, spiritual unfolding, compassion and the precious jewel of awakening
Main Side Panel – Reclining Buddha
One side features the Reclining Buddha, depicting the Buddha entering Mahāparinirvāṇa.
This symbolises liberation, freedom from suffering, peace, completion of the spiritual journey. It reminds practitioners of impermanence and ultimate awakening.
Mandala Panels
Other panels feature sacred mandalas representing cosmic order, meditation, the enlightened universe, balance between body, speech, and mind
Tibetan Mantras
The exterior is engraved with flowing Tibetan script, continuing the blessing around the entire bowl.
These inscriptions traditionally invoke protection, wisdom, purification and compassion

The underside features a thousand petal lotus flower.
